Adriana Lima about her diet!

Looking to shed a few pounds? Adriana Lima says, don’t take my advice.

The supermodel Adriana Lima and Victoria’s Secret angel, 30, recently spilled her punishing pre-runway diet plan to UK newspaper The Daily Telegraph, and now is finding herself on the defense against those who claim the regimen is too extreme.

“Those teenagers out there, don’t go starving yourself or only drinking liquids. Don’t do that please,” she told ET Canada on Thursday. The model is referring to her admission that, in the weeks leading up to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, she works out twice daily and drinks only protein shakes. Worse, she quits all liquids for 12 hours before the show. “Sometimes you can lose up to eight pounds just from that,” Lima said.

But now, Adriana Lima finds herself backtracking. “I have my Starbucks coffee right there … it was a misunderstanding,” she says, showing the ET reporter her backstage snacks, which include coffee, water and a piece of cake.

“I know it’s very intense but … I just have an athlete’s mind and I appreciate doing this thing,” she said. “It’s not that I do crazy diets throughout the year. I just do it for this particular thing. After this show, I become normal again.”
